Chris Hemsworths One Big Concern With Avengers: Infinity War
It's an exciting time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase Three has gone off without a hitch, and every single new blockbuster has been met with critical acclaim and box office success. The MCU is riding high in the wake of Black Panther's release, and things are only going to get crazier once Avengers: Infinity War arrives next month. The Russo Brothers will bring together the entire shared universe's starring cast in the epic battle against Josh Brolin's Thanos, including Thor, who changed quite drastically in Thor: Ragnarok. It turns out that's exactly what actor Chris Hemsworth was worried about when he signed up for the movie. And as such, made his concerns known.
I came into this and called Joe and Anthony and said, 'Look, don't write me the old Thor, we've got a new Thor now'.
Thor: Ragnarok was a game changer for both the God of Thunder and Hulk, and it looks like Chris Hemsworth wanted to ensure that the right version of Thor would end up in Infinity War. After all, he really seemed to like the colors that showed in his recent threequel.
Chris Hemsworth's comments, which come to us from CinemaBlend's visit to the set in Atlanta, make a great deal of sense. While Thor was an original member of The Avengers, his franchise wasn't as beloved as that Iron Man and Captain America's. Fans seemed overall less interested in Odin's son, despite his significance to the overall shared universe. But all that changed with Thor: Ragnarok.
Director Taika Waititi crafted a colorful and vibrant world with Sakaar, and took Thor away from both Asgard and Earth for the majority of its runtime. The film was also given a big injection of comedy, as Waititi's sensibilities and comedic timing brought a much needed sense of fun into the franchise. Hemsworth was therefore able to flex his (behemoth) comedy muscles, which we'd seen in brief moments in the MCU as well as the recent Ghostbusters remake.
With Thor returning to the main conflict of the MCU and reuniting with his buddies in Avengers: Infinity War, Chris Hemsworth wanted to make sure that the changes, both physical and emotional, carried through for the next two movies. Thor lost his eye and his hammer to Hela during Ragnarok, and got better control over his powers of electricity. Now it looks like the Guardians of the Galaxy are going to find him floating in space following the film's cliffhanger ending. Since the Guardians are the most comedy heavy characters in the MCU, it makes sense that the Russos would pair Thor with them in the wake Ragnarok.

I think the positives more than outweigh the negatives in 'The Last Jedi'. It's not perfect by any means but it's a brilliant addition to the Star Wars saga and opens up so many possibilities going forward. It's added freshness to the franchise, Luke still very much has a role to play and the fate of the Resistance hangs on a knife edge.
